# Tottenham Hotspur: Journalist shares what Jose Mourinho told him about Harry Kane injury

**Writing on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/alibruceball/status/1354915145928089600), BBC Radio 5 Live journalist Alistair Bruce-Ball has shared what Jose Mourinho told him about Harry Kane’s ankle injuries after Tottenham Hotspur succumbed to a 3-1 Liverpool defeat – with the reporter sharing that the Englishman is likely to be out for a ‘[few weeks](https://twitter.com/alibruceball/status/1354915145928089600)‘.**

Kane, who has starred up front for Spurs under Mourinho this season, went down clutching his ankles during the Lilywhites’ loss on Thursday evening – with the Tottenham boss revealing to national media that he wasn’t sure of the scale ([football.london](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/mourinho-kane-liverpool-half-time-19724035)).

### Mourinho message explained

However, speaking after the dust settled, claiming that ‘[Mourinho has just told](https://twitter.com/alibruceball/status/1354915145928089600)‘ him, radio journalist Bruce-Ball has shared a claim that Kane could be out for weeks after taking damage to both ankles.

> This is not what [@SpursOfficial](https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) fans want to hear….Jose Mourinho has just told me that Harry Kane is likely to be out for a few weeks having taken knocks to both ankles in [#TOTLIV](https://twitter.com/hashtag/TOTLIV?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

In a big blow for Spurs, especially considering how crucial the 27-year-old is to Tottenham, Kane looks likely to be absent for the next few fixtures as Bruce-Ball shares Mourinho’s estimate on Twitter.

### Transfer Tavern take

According to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/83532/Show/Harry-Kane), Kane has managed the most shots on goal per 90 out of any Spurs player in the league  this season by some way ([3.6](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/30/Show/England-Tottenham)) – averaging nearly double Heung-min Son’s amount in the Premier League ([1.9](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/30/Show/England-Tottenham)).

Judging by the numbers, as well as the fact Kane has bagged [12 goals and 11 assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/83532/Show/Harry-Kane) this season by himself, Tottenham having to cope without him for weeks comes as a huge setback for the Lilywhites’ potential title charge.
