# Tottenham Hotspur: Kieran Trippier sheds new light on Tanguy Ndombele as news emerges

**Tottenham ace Tanguy Ndombele has split opinion over the past couple of weeks.**

Ndombele has apparently informed Jose Mourinho he has no intentions of playing for him again anytime soon, via [ESPN](https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4119866/tottenhams-ndombele-tells-mourinho-he-will-never-play-for-him-again-sources).

According to [ESPN](https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4119866/tottenhams-ndombele-tells-mourinho-he-will-never-play-for-him-again-sources), a row spilled out in a training session last week which culminated in Mourinho’s office at Enfield. The Frenchman, who is [the club’s record signing](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jun/30/spurs-shatter-club-record-lyon-tanguy-ndombele#:~:text=Tottenham%20are%20on%20the%20verge,%E2%82%AC10m%20in%20add-ons.), is fed up with [Mourinho’s constant digs](https://www.espn.com/soccer/tottenham-hotspur/story/4069830/tottenham-mourinho-launches-stinging-criticism-on-ndombele-after-burnley-draw) and finally lashed out.

The pair were forced to apologise after they were caught breaking [the government guidelines](https://www.espn.com/soccer/tottenham-hotspur/story/4083444/coronavirus-tottenham-boss-mourinho-apologises-for-outdoor-workout-in-uk-lockdown) to train together during the nationwide lockdown.

Now, Kieran Trippier has shed new light on Ndombele’s work ethic at Hotspur Way.

Speaking to [The Beautiful Game podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_h6Pt_fSYo), Trippier revealed “from what I hear he’s unbelievable, and supposedly he’s frightening.”

While the former Spurs star has praised his efforts on the training ground, there has been [little evidence](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-spurs-transfer-news-tanguy-ndombele-philippe-coutinho-jose-mourinho-barcelona-a9583526.html) of anything like that on the pitch. Moreover, this may not be enough to save Ndombele’s career in north London.

Their strained relationship is reportedly at breaking point as [Mourinho is disappointed](https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4119866/tottenhams-ndombele-tells-mourinho-he-will-never-play-for-him-again-sources) by his attitude in training. Indeed, [his representatives](https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-transfers/story/4119866/tottenhams-ndombele-tells-mourinho-he-will-never-play-for-him-again-sources) are trying to find a solution to resolve the situation as soon as possible.

[\[freshpress-poll id=”307243″\]](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/[freshpress-poll%20id=%22307243%22])

[The Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-spurs-transfer-news-tanguy-ndombele-philippe-coutinho-jose-mourinho-barcelona-a9583526.html) reported earlier this month that Barcelona are keen to solve two problems by using Philippe Coutinho as part of a swap-deal for Ndombele.

While he has struggled for consistency this season, he has still [attracted attention](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-spurs-transfer-news-tanguy-ndombele-philippe-coutinho-jose-mourinho-barcelona-a9583526.html) from Barca, who are looking to offload [Coutinho](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-tottenham-tell-barcelona-what-theyll-pay-for-coutinho/) this summer.

Although Mourinho has tried to deny the rumours, it seems obvious the Spurs duo are not on [good terms](https://theathletic.com/1891033/2020/06/25/tanguy-ndombele-jose-mourinho-tottenham-spurs-psg-barcelona/).

Despite the fact [Daniel Levy](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-hotspur-news/tottenham-hotspur-daniel-levy-makes-big-decision-on-tanguy-ndombeles-future/) has insisted Ndombele is not for sale, Mourinho may be unable to resist such a tempting offer, considering [his budget](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11720841/jose-mourinho-spurs-transfer-budget-slashed/) has been restricted as a consequence of the coronavirus crisis.
