# Tottenham Hotspur: Kim Min-jae interest still stands despite Milan Skriniar talks, claims journalist

**According to an update from Korean sports journalist [Jason Lee](https://twitter.com/jasons_jayshub/status/1308802580399751168?s=21), Tottenham’s interest in signing Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-jae will not be affected by talks for Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar – with Spurs willing to wait until the next window to pursue him if necessary.**

Min-jae, who has reportedly been on Spurs’ radar for quite some time with centre-backs on Daniel Levy’s priority list, is arguably on the back burner for now as talks to sign Skriniar commence – and Sky Sports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that negotiations are [in the works.](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1308876995057651712)

Whether or not Spurs get a deal done for the Slovakian is irrelevant, however, to Tottenham’s interest in Min-jae – with Koren reporter Lee claiming the outcome will not have an impact on Levy’s interest in snapping up the [30-cap international.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/min-jae-kim/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503482)

Lilywhites were allegedly curious whether their club would halt their pursuit of the 6ft 3 ‘[monster](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jun/18/everton-among-clubs-chasing-monster-south-korea-defender-kim-min-jae)‘ if Skriniar signs, but Lee’s positive update also claims that the club ‘ideally’ want two central defenders as opposed to one.

Garnering a stellar reputation on the Asian continent, Min-jae has attracted interest from Serie A giants Lazio also, who reportedly had a bid accepted by Beijing Guoan for the colossus.

However, as claimed by [SPOTV News](https://m.spotvnews.co.kr/?mod=news&act=articleView&idxno=379875&sc_code=1395273901&page=&total=), Min-jae has his heart set on a move to north London over the Stadio Olimpico – and the 23-year-old may have been given more hope now that signing Skriniar will not directly affect his chances of a Premier League switch.

Whether or not Tottenham land him this window remains to be seen, but signing Min-jae and Skriniar could be deemed brilliant moves by Levy.
