# Tottenham Hotspur: Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik attracting Spurs interest

**According to a report by football.london journalist [Alasdair Gold](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-striker-transfer-milik-daka-18907884), Spurs have ‘looked at’ Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik ahead of the looming 2020/2021 Premier League season – with a back-up striker to Harry Kane now being prioritised before the end of the window.**

As detailed by Sky Sports transfer guru [Fabrizio Romano,](https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/summer-transfer-window-ft-fabrizio-romano/id1281903552?i=1000489871646) Tottenham want three more signings in the centre-back, wing and striking positions, but the latter role could be viewed as Spurs’ most crucial problem to fix.

Last campaign, Spurs were heavily reliant on star hitman Harry Kane, but a [hamstring injury](https://talksport.com/football/655713/tottenham-harry-kane-injury-michael-owen-tony-cascarino/) sustained mid-way through the season left Jose Mourinho’s team bereft of natural centre-forward options.

The club released ex-back up forward Fernando Llorente in the [summer of 2019](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49548727#:~:text=Napoli%20have%20signed%20Spain%20striker,Manchester%20City%20in%20last%20season.) without finding a suitable replacement, and now chairman Daniel Levy and co are reportedly determined to fix the issue.

Serie A forward Arkadiusz Milik, who Spurs have been [linked with for a while](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/transfer-news/tottenham-striker-transfer-milik-daka-18907884), is officially on the target list according to reliable correspondent Gold.

The towering 6ft 1 international has scored [38 league goals throughout his stay](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/profil/spieler/191891) at the San Paolo Stadium and could certainly possess the physicality needed to play in the Premier League, but his price tag comes at a whopping [£26 million.](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1332956/Tottenham-News-Arkadiusz-Milik-Transfer-Napoli-Rumours-Gossip)

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis recently confirmed [Milik could leave the club](https://en.as.com/en/2020/09/03/football/1599112934_011764.html#:~:text=Napoli's%20Kalidou%20Koulibaly%20and%20forward,leave%20the%20Serie%20A%20club.&text=Napoli%20president%20Aurelio%20De%20Laurentiis,the%20right%20offers%20came%20in.) if a suitable offers comes in, but his valuation could be too far out of Levy’s reach – even for a player once likened to [Real Madrid star Karim Benzema.](https://www.tuttosport.com/news/calcio/serie-a/juventus/2020/06/16-70759569/borriello_milik_ideale_per_cristiano_ronaldo/)

Given this latest update, there may be better alternatives, such as [Patson Daka](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/12533994/man-utd-salzburg-patson-daka-erling-haaland-transfer/) and [Habib Diallo](https://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/spurs-leeds-chasing-fc-metz-attacker-habib-diallo-4336548#:~:text=Tied%20to%20Metz%20until%202022,to%20Spurs%20in%20recent%20weeks.) who could both come for cheaper prices.
