# Tottenham Hotspur: Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik ‘offered’ to Spurs as Daniel Levy pursues new forward

**According to reliable Sky Sports journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/fabrizioromano/status/1308524922772353026?s=21), Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik after an unexpected last minute collapse of his move to AS Roma – with the club allegedly about to make a decision on whether or not to swoop.**

Milik, who bagged [14 goals in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891) for the Italian outfit last season, has been monitored heavily by Tottenham over the course of this window as per a string of updates.

Fellow correspondent [Alasdair Gold](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-hotspur-alasdair-gold-details-three-spurs-striking-targets-ahead-of-2020-2021/) recently confirmed that Spurs had been considering a move, with the [51-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891) Poland international seemingly on the club’s list of transfer targets along with a plethora of other strikers.

After losing hope over signing him, especially after AS Roma were reportedly inches away from a deal, a huge twist in the race for his signature may have put Spurs in pole position – with Napoli now offering chairman Daniel Levy and co a chance to commence negotiations.

Described as ‘[sensational](https://www.si.com/soccer/2019/01/21/napoli-boss-carlo-ancelotti-heaps-praise-sensational-arkadiusz-milik-2-1-win-over-lazio)‘ by Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, Milik has bagged [28 Serie A goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891) over the last two seasons, all the while becoming a force for his country at international level.

However, there are potential downsides to a move, with his current market valuation being in and around the [£28.8 million mark](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arkadiusz-milik/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/191891) – which could be too high a price to pay for Spurs after they competed a sensational double swoop for Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon recently.

Also, Milik’s[injury issues over the last few seasons](https://www.si.com/soccer/2019/01/21/napoli-boss-carlo-ancelotti-heaps-praise-sensational-arkadiusz-milik-2-1-win-over-lazio) have been well noted, with any back-up to Harry Kane ideally needing to possess a reliable fitness record.

Whether or not Tottenham take up the offer to snap him up remains to be seen, but it could be an interesting few days ahead.
