Reliable Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has rejected the latest rumours involving Lilywhites manager Antonio Conte.

The Lowdown: Conte rumours

Taking to Twitter, journalist Hadrien Grenier has relayed a news report by Le Parisien which claimed that Conte wants to take the managerial job at Paris Saint-Germain next season if current boss Mauricio Pochettino is relieved of his duties at the Ligue 1 club.

The Italian is reportedly confident about making the move and has even spoken to a number of employees expressing his desire in the role.

Theoretically, this could see the return of Pochettino at the north London club, as reports have widely circulated naming him as a potential replacement for Conte if the former Inter Milan manager chooses to depart from Hotspur Way.

The Latest: Gold’s claim on Conte

Taking to YouTube, Alasdair Gold spoke of the Conte situation at Spurs, referring to the rumours linking the 52-year-old with a move to the French capital.

Tottenham news channel The Spurs Express then provided a synopsis of Gold’s news on Twitter, claiming: “People around Antonio Conte say the PSG rumours are not true. @AlasdairGold”

The Verdict: Good news…

After a fluctuating start to life in north London, Conte's Spurs have made themselves genuine top-four contenders this season.

Since the 52-year-old's arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Lilywhites have won 13, drawn four and lost six of their Premier League table, just two points behind Arsenal in fourth.

This alone demonstrates the impact that Conte has had on the club, so Gold’s proclamation rejecting the exit rumours about the Italian will surely come as a huge delight to Tottenham fans.
