Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has attracted criticism from talkSPORT pundit Jamie O'Hara after his performance against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Lowdown: Spurs suffer first league defeat...

Antonio Conte suffered his first defeat of the Premier League campaign as Spurs succumbed to a 3-1 north London derby reverse against their arch-rivals yesterday.

Right from the off, the Lilywhites found it difficult to nullify the home side, who attacked with wave after wave of intense, attacking build-up play. It didn't take too long for Arsenal to open the scoring, with midfielder Thomas Partey netting a sublime long-range effort after being left in acres of space.

Harry Kane briefly swung momentum back Tottenham's way with a converted penalty but it wasn't enough as goals from Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka cemented a deserved Gunners victory.

The Latest: O'Hara slams Bentancur...

Taking to social media during the contest, former Spurs midfielder O'Hara slammed Bentancur for his role in the centre of the park, accusing him of 'jogging' and leaving Conte's side 'bare'.

The 36-year-old fumed: "Having to double up on Arsenal's wingers and it’s leaving us bare in midfield, Bentancur ain’t getting out quick enough, jogging."

The Verdict: Off-day...

Bentancur was actually one of the more highly-rated Spurs players according to SofaScore, although there is an argument to be made that both he and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg had off-days in midfield.

Indeed, Partey was debatably in far too much space to unleash that shot for Arsenal's opening goal, and either one of Bentancur or the Dane should've been closing down the Ghanaian before he took aim.

Following the humbling defeat, it's back to the drawing board for Conte as he now aims to get back to winning ways.

Hopefully the Uruguayan and his team-mates will soon have the likes of O'Hara spouting more positive assessments of their performance.
