Former Tottenham Hotspur star Paul Stewart does not believe that the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as manager would convince Harry Kane to stay at the club.
Spurs have been heavily linked with a move to bring the Argentine back to the club following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
The Athletic reported last week that the two parties had entered into talks over a deal that would see Pochettino return to the club he left just 18 months ago from PSG.
Will Pochettino return to Spurs?
He would be walking back into a team in transition, however, with Kane having reportedly told the club that he wants to leave.
Sky Sports first reported his desire to move away from the club, leading to links with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
Kane and Pochettino fostered a close working relationship when the latter was first at the club and while Stewart believes the England captain would have a decision to make if Pochettino did make a return, he does not expect it to sway him.
Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, he said: “You would think that it may but I don’t think that it will change his mind. It may give Harry Kane food for thought.”
