Tottenham legend Graham Roberts has told The Transfer Tavern in an exclusive interview that Jose Mourinho is still due a hefty sum of money from the north London club despite finding a new job.

A report by Football London's Alasdair Gold has suggested that Tottenham now only need to pay the wages of his old contract for the next couple of months following his appointment as AS Roma manager.

Roberts, however, has told TT that he is hearing otherwise and expects the 58-year-old to take home a lot more than a few month's wages from his Spurs contract.

In an exclusive interview, the former defender said: "What I've been told is he gets a year's money, so you're talking £16-17m."

While Mourinho has found himself a dugout for next season, Tottenham are still looking for someone to fill theirs after dismissing the Portuguese coach.

A whole host of managers have been linked with Mourinho's former post, with Atalanta's Gian Piero Gasperini the latest name to enter the fray.

Reported interest in the Italian comes after Julian Nagelsmann's decision to leave RB Leipzig for Bayern Munich in the summer and Erik ten Hag's contract extension at Ajax. Both managers had been strongly linked with the north London club.
