Boost for Mourinho
In the space of eight minutes on Sunday, Spurs experienced both euphoria and despair. For most of the match against the Hammers, Tottenham had been in control – they were 3-0 up and coasting thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Heung-min Son. However, three goals in the final part of the clash earned David Moyes’ side an unlikely point.
Mourinho, of course, will have been far from happy with this result. However, there was a slight positive for the Lilywhites, at least, as Gold revealed that both Lamela and Lo Celso had trained after the game. A number of players who didn’t play in the game were also involved, such as Joe Rodon, whilst Lucas Moura and Harry Winks both took part as well.
Back in time for Europa League action
This is an important boost for Mourinho. Whilst it remains unclear whether both are guaranteed starters for Spurs – neither appeared in more than 30 Premier League games last season – they are vital players in the squad for what promises to be a testing season.
Will Tottenham beat LASK on Thursday?
This term, Tottenham will be playing in the Europa League, with their first game in that competition coming on Thursday against LASK. With the games coming thick and fast, Mourinho is likely to rotate, and having two quality players such as Lamela and Lo Celso available will only help the 2019 Champions League finalists remain competitive across all competitions.
