Tottenham: Spurs ‘contact’ club president to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi

Tottenham: Spurs 'contact' club president to sign Ruslan Malinovskyi - Premier League News

Tottenham Hotspur have made an out-of-window move for Atalanta attacker Ruslan Malinovskyi as reports from Italy share the latest.

The Lowdown: Paratici transfer planning?

Lilywhites sporting director Fabio Paratici could now be looking ahead to January as Spurs reportedly aim to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad mid-season.

In seeking to boost the 53-year-old’s chances of clinching long-elusive silverware, the north Londoners have already been linked with forward additions such as Leicester City playmaker James Maddison.

This comes after Tottenham and Paratici navigated the summer transfer window, during which they completed moves for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, Destiny Udogie and a permanent deal for Cristian Romero.

Malinovskyi was another signing that they attempted over the summer, but despite his eagerness to pen a deal in N17, the Ukraine international’s prospective Premier League move failed to materialise.

Even after the 29-year-old’s failed move Spurs, reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano recently claimed (via The Boot Room) that Malinovskyi ‘was and is still dreaming of Tottenham’.

The Latest: Spurs make Malinovskyi ‘contact’…

As per news from Italy, it appears that Spurs supporters have been handed another update on their club’s links with the 29-year-old.

You could say the one thing Conte severely lacks is a senior creative midfield player, and it appears they see Malinovskyi as a real solution to this void.

Calciomercato claim that Paratici has ‘already made contact’ with Atalanta president Antonio Percassi over the player, but Spurs face competition from Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Marseille.

The Verdict: Make the move?

Malinovskyi’s deal at Atalanta is set to expire in 2023, so it seems almost certain that he could leave mid-season, not least because his current club will want to make some form of profit over losing him for nothing.

Spurs fans, do you remember who scored your first goal of the season against Man City?

As per WhoScored, he could be a great asset at Spurs, with the forward finishing 2021/22 as one of the Nerazzurri’s highest-rated players per 90 in Serie A with 10 goal contributions.

Called an ‘absolutely wonderful’ midfielder by members of the press, this prospective transfer seems like one to watch for the Tottenham faithful.
