Tottenham are 'considering' a contract offer to sign Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita when his deal expires this summer, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Spurs secure January deals...

Following an eventful January transfer window, Spurs ended the month with two new signings to boost manager Antonio Conte's top-four challenge.

The Premier League side snapped up both Pedro Porro from Sporting, who joins the north Londoners after extensive talks, and Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma on a temporary deal.

Conte didn't see a new central midfielder added to his ranks, though, with reports now suggesting they could take to the free agent market.

The Latest: Tottenham 'considering' Keita contract offer...

According to 90min, Conte's side are now 'considering' a contract offer to sign Keita with his Liverpool deal currently set to expire at the end of this season.

It is believed they are among the sides interested in tabling a proposal for the 27-year-old amid his stand-off over fresh terms at Anfield.

The Verdict: Right move?

The £120,000-per-week ace, despite suffering a plethora of injury issues since joining Liverpool. has also impressed when on the pitch.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, for instance, said just last year that Keita is 'one of the best midfielders' he's seen over his managerial career.

Over his 23 league appearances last season, the Guinean averaged an impressive two tackles per 90 on average, with only defender Konstantinos Tsimikas accumulating a higher number in the Reds squad (WhoScored).

Keita can clearly perform when available, with Klopp also calling him an 'amazing player' last year, with the only question marks being around a turbulent fitness record.

Martin Keown once branded him a midfielder who has 'everything' you need but Tottenham would still be taking a risk based off Keita's injury history.
