Tottenham: Overseas journalist shares ‘good news’ for Cristian Romero -Tottenham Hotspur News

Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has been gifted some ‘good news’ as overseas journalist Gaston Edul shares an injury update on the 24-year-old.

The Lowdown: Conte injury woes…

Spurs manager Antonio Conte has been having to deal with his squad’s fair share of fitness woes lately, with both Romero and Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski struggling recently.

To make matters worse, the Premier League giants have now been dealt another blow, with star forward Son Heung-min now having to undergo surgery on an orbital fracture, putting his league campaign and World Cup involvement in serious doubt.

Romero, who is a hopeful for Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni’s own World Cup squad, has missed Spurs’ last three games in all competitions with a hamstring problem.

The tournament is just two-and-a-half weeks away and many members of the Lilywhites squad will be praying that they’re given the nod for what will surely be a memorable month of international action in Qatar.

The Latest: Edul shares ‘good news’ for Romero…

However, Romero may have just been handed some ‘good news’ in this regard.

Overseas journalist Edul of TYC Sports has shared an update on the 24-year-old’s condition – one which comes as positive for the Tottenham player.

Taking to Twitter, the reporter claims that Romero’s hamstring problem is a ‘strain’, and after 10 days he should be available for Argentina’s World Cup campaign.

Edul explained“Good news: Cuti Romero has a strain. With 10 days of rehabilitation he will be cured and would reach the first game.”

Spurs fans, do you remember who scored your first goal of the season against Man City?

The Verdict: Wonderful…

The South American ace will be dreaming of taking part in his first World Cup this year, so this update comes as wonderful news for Romero personally.

The 24-year-old has displayed great form for Spurs at club level when fit and available, ranking as their seventh-best performer as per WhoScored metrics, and he should be a shoo-in for Scaloni’s star-studded squad.
