Tottenham Hotspur have been sent a Harry Kane transfer warning as agent Hayden Dodge shares the latest on Bayern Munich’s interest in the 29-year-old.
The Lowdown: Kane clock running…
The England international has been a pivotal figure for Spurs and their manager Antonio Conte, scoring 11 goals and setting up another in 14 Premier League outings in the current campaign (WhoScored).
Kane is also their best-performing player by average match rating so far this season and is by some distance their biggest threat in the final third. The 29-year-old has attempted more shots at goal per 90 than any Spurs player and it’s difficult to think where most of the team’s goals would come from if he were to depart.
However, his current contract expires in 2024, giving chairman Daniel Levy just over a year to either agree an extension or face having to sell him.
The Latest: Agent shares ‘big’ Kane warning…
The striker’s deal looks set to be one of the big talking points of 2023, as it has been rumoured that Bayern Munich have taken a serious interest in him.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side are without a marquee centre-forward since the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, prompting them to potentially look at Kane as a solution.
Dodge has now told Caught Offside that the Bundesliga giants are ‘preparing’ to make a ‘big play’ to sign Tottenham’s big-name striker.
The super-agent explained: “He’s Spurs’ best player’ – Yes, of course, Kane is up there. We all know he’s a top-class player but Bayern Munich are preparing to make a big play to sign him.”
The Verdict: Danger…
Kane’s desire to win silverware has been well documented and Bayern, who have won 10 Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues over the past decade, could be just the club to give him a real opportunity in that regard.
His quality in the forward areas could also strengthen the German champions to no end, and the more you discuss this potential move, the more it seems like a match made in heaven.
Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has even called him ‘very underrated‘, despite Kane’s brilliant form under Conte, and wishes that the Reds had him at Anfield.
This is an indicator that the 29-year-old will have no shortage of suitors, and Spurs have been sent their first warning as the clock ticks down on Kane’s contract.
