Tottenham are in the 'front row' to sign Juventus midfielder and World Cup finalist Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye new midfielder?

Despite the presence of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp, it appears Spurs are after another midfielder ahead of January.

The north Londoners have been heavily linked with a move for Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat with contact already made, coming after the Fiorentina man's colossal performances in Qatar.

Now, it appears another of the tournament's gems is on sporting director Fabio Paratici and manager Antonio Conte's radar.

The Latest: Tottenham enter pole position for Rabiot...

Sources out of Italy say that Spurs have emerged as favourites to sign the £149,000-per-week Rabiot and currently sit in the 'front row' ahead of both Liverpool and London rivals Chelsea.

This information comes courtesy of Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who share that Rabiot has admirers from the Premier League.

The 27-year-old is out of contract in 2023, meaning Juve could sanction his exit for €10-15million (£8.8m-£13m) next month to avoid a major loss later in the year.

The Verdict: Make the move?

A maximum fee of £13m would be a major bargain for Rabiot, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino targeting him all the way back in 2017.

As per WhoScored, the 'superb' midfielder currently ranks as Juve's best-performer by average match rating in Serie A - scoring three goals and assisting two others on top of that.

Still very much in his prime, he could move to England as one of the bargains of the winter market.
