Tottenham Hotspur have made contact to sign World Cup star Mohammed Kudus amid his brilliant performances for Ghana, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Paratici transfer plans...

The January transfer window comes as a significant opportunity to bolster Antonio Conte's squad whilst strengthening Spurs' chances of finishing in the Premier League top four.

Tottenham currently lie fourth but have endured a wobbly run of form lately, losing three of their last five top-flight matches before the mid-season break and conceding 11 goals in that time.

In addition to strengthening defensively, the Lilywhites could also use more options in the attacking areas, with the in-form Kudus now being targeted.

The Latest: Spurs make Kudus contact...

According to 90min reporter Graeme Bailey, it appears that Tottenham and their sporting director Fabio Paratici have made contact to sign the Ajax attacker in the form of an enquiry.

Kudus has been in brilliant form for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar, potentially heightening Spurs' interest in signing him alongside other clubs.

The Verdict: Exciting...

Hailed as a 'star boy' by Ajax team-mate Calvin Bassey, the 22-year-old has also been tipped for greatness by Spurs defender Matt Doherty.

The latter recently claimed that Kudus is 'going to be a really good player' and raved over his performance for Ghana against South Korea, in which the Tottenham transfer target scored two goals.

However, with his stock rising, Spurs may need to act fast to avoid a steadily growing January auction for the Ghanaian starlet.
