Members of the general media have been left thrilled by some 'big news' as Tottenham Hotspur confirm a new deal for wonderkid Alfie Devine.

The Lowdown: Devine dazzles...

Widely regarded as a special talent in the Lilywhites academy, reliable football.london journalist Alasdair Gold is among those to heap praise on Devine for his form with the Tottenham Under-23s.

Gold has called the midfielder an 'organiser' and states it is 'fascinating' to watch him in action, drawing particular attention to the player's leadership qualities at such a young age (via Spurs Web).

Devine also starred at international level over the summer with England Under-19s, playing an instrumental role as the young Lions clinched a second European Championship.

The Latest: Devine new deal...

As a result of his terrific form, Spurs have now saw fit to reward the Englishman with a new deal running until 2027.

Given Devine's vast potential, members of the media have reacted with glee to this news - claiming it is 'big news' for the north Londoners.

They explained:

"Get in" - Football Insider pundit John Wenham, writing via his Lilywhite Rose account.

"A Devine intervention. Lovely stuff." - Paul O'Keefe, Spurs fan and FA registered intermediary (via Twitter).

The Verdict: Great news...

Tying down such a top talent like Devine can only come as good news, especially since he could soon be in demand based off the midfielder's current trajectory.
