Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been in contact with the entourage of Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie regarding a potential move to the north London club.

The Lowdown: Spurs linked with McKennie

The Lilywhites have previously been linked with a move for the midfielder, most recently during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been in World Cup action for the USA in Qatar, where he won two tackles and four of his six ground duels during the 0-0 draw against England on Friday.

With the January transfer window on the horizon, it seems that some rumblings have been going on behind the scenes which could result in seeing the Juventus figure coming to the Premier League.

The Latest: Spurs make contact over McKennie

According to a report from Tuttosport on Monday evening, the north London club have made contact with McKennie's entourage over a potential move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The report adds that both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are keen on securing a deal for the American.

The Verdict: Ideal time for Spurs to move

In 91 appearances for the Turin club, the midfielder has found the net 13 times and delivered four assists.

After his performance against England last week, The Guardian said that the Juventus figure "dominated [the] midfield with his driving runs", which showcases what he'd be able to offer Spurs if they were to sign him.

Bearing in mind how the entire Juventus board recently resigned from their positions, it will be interesting to see if that could end up having any impact on whether or not the likes of McKennie or any other players at the club leave in January.

With that in mind and the connections that Conte and Paratici have with the club, having both worked with the Bianconeri in the past, this could make it an ideal time for Spurs to finally sign McKennie.
