Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs 'moving decisively' for Adrien Rabiot - Premier League News

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘moving decisively’ to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports from Italy.

The Lowdown: Tottenham linked with Rabiot

It was recently reported that Spurs were lining up a move for the 27-year-old, whose club are hoping that Spurs will offer Emerson Royal in exchange as part of a deal.

That came after Corriere dello Sport detailed (via Sport Witness) that European heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich had all registered an interest in the France international, whose contract in Turin is expiring at the end of the season.

The same report claims that the Bianconeri would be willing to part with the midfielder for around €10m to €15m (£8.8m-£13.2m).

The Latest: Tottenham step up Rabiot interest

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Spurs are ‘moving decisively’ to try and secure the signing of the 27-year-old, with Arsenal also now pressing.

While the former PSG man does not want to renew his contract at the Allianz Stadium and could therefore be open to an exit, it is claimed that he is inclined to wait until the end of the season before making any decision regarding his future.

The Verdict: Get it done

Rabiot has been absolutely vital for Juventus this season, ranked by SofaScore as their best-performing player in Serie A, with an average match rating of 7.29.

As such, it is clear to see why he is attracting interest from across the continent, and Antonio Conte must now ensure that he wins the race for the highly sought-after central midfielder.

How much did Spurs pay to sign future legend and fan favourite David Ginola?

Lauded as ‘sensational‘ by pundit Mina Rzouki, Rabiot has seven goal contributions in 16 matches in all competitions this season, just shy of one every other game. That is no mean feat considering that he does not feature in an advanced role, only playing in attacking midfield once in his last 50 games.

With current Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma yet to score or set up a goal in 15 Premier League outings this term, Rabiot would appear to be an upgrade on what Conte already has available, providing the Tottenham manager with greater depth in the middle of the park.
