Tottenham Hotspur could now sign Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin for a bargain fee, according to a new report.

The Lowdown: Lloris' form

Hugo Lloris has been a fantastic servant to Tottenham since arriving at the club over ten years ago, however he is now 36, and a few more mistakes have started to creep into his game.

The Frenchman had a shocker against Aston Villa last time out, making an error that led to the visitors taking the lead, and receiving a SofaScore rating of 5.4 for his performance.

He now leads the league in errors leading to goal with three, so the time may have come to find a replacement.

The Latest: Trubin available

According to a report from the Express, Spurs' attentions have now been turned to finding Lloris' successor, and Trubin has caught the eye in the Ukrainian Premier League over the past few seasons.

At just 21, the youngster would be able to hold down the goalkeeper spot for years to come, and Fabio Paratici could strike a bargain deal, considering that the player will be entering the final year of his contract next season.

The Verdict: Get it done?

It is now clear that Tottenham need a long-term replacement for Lloris, and the Ukrainian is showing promising signs that he could fit the bill for Antonio Conte's side.

Despite his tender years, the 6 foot 5 giant has already made 74 appearances for the Shakhtar first team, including 14 in the Champions League, and he has impressed considerably, keeping 30 clean sheets in that time.

Not only that, but the starlet has been described as 'powerful' by scout Jacek Kulig, who also likened him to Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for his bravery and reflexes.

Being confident on the ball is a key ability required by modern-day goalkeepers, and Trubin also ticks this box, making an average of 47.5 touches per 90 in the past year, placing him in the 95th percentile compared to his positional peers.
