Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte may need to bring in reinforcements in January and is able to “plan” with north London officials.

The Lowdown: Reinforcements needed?

When Tottenham signed Richarlison in the summer transfer window, it was a move that came with significance as the side finally invested in a high-quality, depth-bolstering option.

The side may now need to channel that same methodology into garnering further reinforcements, having secured a place in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages earlier this month.

The Latest: A couple of bodies

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has claimed that Spurs need “a couple of bodies” with the side “light on the bench.” Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Bridge said:

“I think for Antonio Conte, he can now plan as a Champions League side.

“He can now plan with Paratici and Levy in January because I think they need a couple of bodies in.

“They’re so light on the bench.”

The Verdict: Much needed

You could say that Spurs’ makeshift backline is in need of a fresh and more orthodox central presence, with the side ranking as the ninth-worst defensive side in the league this season.

It goes without saying that this is completely uncharacteristic from a traditional Conte side, so a defence-bolstering option could be seen as a must.

So too may be a progressive midfield string-puller who can operate as a deep-lying playmaker. Improvements can and most likely will be made in January.
