Tottenham Hotspur are pushing ahead to sign Dejan Kulusevski on a permanent basis this summer, with a move thought to be already ‘99%’ done, Football Insider report.

The Lowdown: Kulusevski’s impact

Kulusevski arrived on an 18-month loan deal from Juventus in January 2022 with an obligation to make a move permanent if certain criteria are met.

The 22-year-old has gone on to become a key member of the side under Antonio Conte since joining, contributing to 21 goals in 44 games.

The Sweden international has been hailed as an "outstanding" player by journalist Charlie Eccleshare and has been Spurs’ fourth-best performer in the Premier League this season, as per WhoScored, with a full-time move looking increasingly likely.

The Latest: Transfer update

Football Insider shared an update regarding Spurs and Kulusevski on Saturday evening. They said that Tottenham, and by extension chairman Daniel Levy, are pushing ahead to sign the winger regardless of whether or not the obligation-to-buy clause is activated.

The report adds that Spurs have held back to make a move permanent in recent windows to focus on other signings, however, a deal for Kulusevski is already “99%” done which includes terms over a contract and with Juventus.

The Verdict: Good news

Kulusevski has become vital for Spurs under Conte, registering more assists and key passes per 90 than any of his teammates, as per WhoScored.

He also ranks highly when it comes to completed dribbles and even tackles made each game, so knowing that a permanent transfer is close will come as positive news.

Still just 22 years of age, you’d like to think there is more to come from Kulusevski before he hits his prime, and hopefully, his long-term future will be in north London.
