Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic has a 'proposal on the table' from Fabio Paratici and Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Calciomercato.

The lowdown

21-year-old Vlahovic netted 21 goals in 34 Serie A starts for 13th-placed Fiorentina last season.

The Serbian comfortably out-performed his expected goal tally of 18.11 (via Infogol), showing some clinical and composed finishing at such a young age.

Serie A expert Conor Clancy has raved about the 6 foot 3 Vlahovic, calling him 'incredible' and 'a complete number nine' who you expect to score every time he plays (via This Is Futbol).

The news arrived on the same day that Manchester City reportedly made an offer for Harry Kane.

Spurs have 'no intention to accept', but the English striker does want to leave (via Fabrizio Romano).

The latest

The report states that Fiorentina are trying to tie down Vlahovic to a new contract, but instead he wants to make the 'leap' to a big club this summer.

As well as mentioning new Lilywhites transfers chief Paratici by name, the report also reveals approaches from Spanish champions Atletico Madrid and Italian giants AC Milan, who have apparently identified him as an heir to 39-year-old Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

An 'obstacle' in the deal, though, is Fiorentina's asking price, which lies somewhere around €60million (£51.4million), potentially too much for Paratici and co.

The verdict

Vlahovic's goalscoring exploits are all the more impressive when you consider how much Fiorentina struggled as a whole - his potential is immense, as he finished just three goals behind Romelu Lukaku.

Spurs may face the consequences of a sixth-place finish here, though. Both Atletico and Milan can offer Vlahovic Champions League football, while they're set to compete in the Europa Conference League.

Yes, there's the lure of the Premier League at play, but that might not be enough, especially with Spurs yet to resolve their managerial uncertainty.

Another point to consider is that, if Kane was to leave, perhaps supporters would want a more established goalscorer who's been putting up Vlahovic's numbers for years, however difficult that may be to find.
