TalkSPORT punditTalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has taken aim at Tottenham striker Richarlison for his domestic form since joining.

The Lowdown: In-and-out...

The marquee 2022 summer signing has been in and out of Antonio Conte's team since the beginning of this Premier League season.

Injuries to both his calf and hamstring at various points over 2022/23 have limited Richarlison's chances of a consistent run in the team.

The Brazil international, who has been free scoring for his national team, hasn't been able to translate that form on a regular basis in a Spurs shirt.

The Latest: Agbonlahor sends Richarlison message...

Speaking to Football Insider, the talkSPORT pundit has sent criticism Richarlison's way - claiming he needs to be doing more in front of goal when available.

He explained:

"I think Danjuma is a great signing.

“Richarlison needs competition. He can’t always be thinking that he’s the first sub to come off the bench.

“If Kulusevski, Kane, and Son are the starting three – then Richarlison may have been too comfortable in that substitute role.

“He’s got to buck his ideas up. He’s been poor. Zero Premier League goals and we’re in February, it’s not good enough.

"He’s had his injuries, but it’s not good enough."

The Verdict: Harsh?

The South American ace has contributed with some important goals in the Champions League this season and has been praised for his Spurs contribution in parts.

However, with zero league goals by this point, it is perhaps justified to expect more from a player who commanded £60million last year.

There have been signs of Richarlison potentially becoming a key player for Spurs in the years to come, after all he is just 25-years-old. However, as Antonio Conte aims to clinch Champions League qualification again with Tottenham, the hope will be that Everton's former star can seriously pick up form.
