Writing for football.london, journalist Alasdair Gold has dropped a strong hint that Jack Clarke could feature for Spurs tonight against LASK – claiming he ‘might just get the chance‘ after ‘understanding‘ that Jose Mourinho has been impressed with him training.
Clarke, who went out on two respective loan spells to Leeds United and QPR, respectively, last season, has reportedly been turning Mourinho’s head since returning to Hotspur Way.
Gold tips Clarke to feature
The 19-year-old has been named in Spurs’ squad to face LASK tonight, with the official team news expected shortly, and Clarke could well feature.
Signed for £10 million from Leeds United in the summer of 2019, an arguably heavy investment from chairman Daniel Levy given that he was seen as one for the future, Clarke now has the chance to learn from superstar Gareth Bale and improve his performances, according to Gold.
Indeed, Tottenham allegedly ‘rebuffed‘ interest in the teenager over loan deals, with Mourinho preferring for him to stay and learn from Spurs’ superstar summer signing.

Described as ‘excellent‘ by pundit Noel Whelan, Clarke certainly could possess a high ceiling and appears to be highly-rated by Mourinho.
Learning his trade alongside Bale can only be a plus point, too, with the teenager now able to try and replicate an established 83-cap international who is an icon of world football.
If Clarke does make a cameo against LASK tonight, it may be his opportunity to justify the heavy investment by Levy and the club in general.
