Alasdair Gold has predicted that Jose Mourinho will make four changes to his Tottenham Hotspur side from the team that started against West Brom to line up against Everton tonight.
Writing in his latest piece for football.london, the journalist has predicted that Matt Doherty, Eric Dier, Harry Winks and Steven Bergwijn will come into the starting eleven in the place of Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura, who all started against Sam Allardyce’s team on Sunday.
This would mean that Tanguy Ndombele would likely be pushed further forward by Jose Mourinho into the central attacking midfield position, with Winks slotting in a bit deeper alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
No room for Alli or Bale
Of course, this Spurs starting line-up would mean that there would still be no Dele Alli or Gareth Bale in the starting XI once again.
Should Spurs start Bale?
The potential inclusion of Dier may also be a controversial one given that he conceded the penalty that Jorginho scored to give the Chelsea the win away from home on Thursday night, a mistake that former England central defender Rio Ferdinand described as ‘silly’.
Nonetheless, it will be a side that Mourinho will pick to try and win the game and book their place into the next round of the competition, with the overall aim of trying to get some silverware for the North London club still very much on the agenda.
