As Tottenham draw Northern Premier League North/West Division side Marine in the FA Cup third round, Alasdair Gold shared the news on Twitter whilst giving his full reaction – going on to exclaim ‘wow’ whilst hailing the ‘incredible’ tie.
Spurs now travel to the English minnows for their opening FA Cup match, with manager Jose Mourinho potentially keen on going for it as he looks to end his side’s 12-year-long wait for silverware.
Indeed, the last trophy won by Tottenham was a League Cup in 2008, and after a summer of heavy investment by chairman Daniel Levy, Spurs now arguably have their best chance to go for glory.
Gold reacts to FA Cup draw
Now that their opening encounter of a hopefully long FA Cup journey is confirmed, Gold has explained on Twitter how this tie is simply ‘incredible’ – with Marine potentially counting their lucky stars as they’re drawn against a Premier League giant.
Wow, Spurs get drawn away at Northern Premier League North/West Divison side Marine in the FA Cup third round. What an incredible tie for the non-league club.

Transfer Tavern take
While this match is a chance for Marine to get their names on the map, it’s also a golden opportunity for Mourinho to rest key players as a long-winded and congested fixture schedule looks set to take place.
Youngsters such as Jack Clarke and Harvey White, who have been impressing the manager at Hotspur Way, may be given a chance to start in the cup as Spurs prepare for what will be a memorable occasion on both sides.
