Writing on Twitter, reliable correspondent Alasdair Gold has shared a potentially 'lucrative' off-field Tottenham Hotspur development which could help bolster their pandemic-hit finances.

The Lowdown: Spurs in sell-to-buy mission

Tottenham may need to offload any players deemed surplus-to-requirements before they can heavily invest in marquee signings this summer (The Daily Mail).

The closure of stadiums and loss of matchday revenue over this past year has hit clubs hard financially, including Spurs, with chairman Daniel Levy tasked to navigate this whilst also improving the Lilywhites squad for 2021/2022.

He claims that Spurs are now set to announce a new training kit sponsorship deal with Levy already tying up the partnership.

While he doesn't name the sponsor, Gold says that Tottenham are set to don their label on the Lilywhites' Hotspur Way apparel.

The journalist describes this agreement as potentially 'lucrative', citing the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in his football.london piece given they have also benefitted financially from training kit sponsors.

"Understand Spurs are set to announce a new training kit sponsorship deal which should help boost their pandemic-hit finances," he wrote on his social media.

"Such deals have already proved lucrative for other Premier League clubs."

The Lowdown: Great news for Spurs...

Amid Tottenham's continued hunt to agree a deal for their stadium naming rights, at least Chief Commercial Officer Todd Kline has reportedly sealed a much-needed source of income.

Kline has been tasked with bringing in new sponsorship agreements to boost Spurs financially off the field and it looks like one of his first big deals has already been done in a much-needed boost for the Lilywhites.

Spurs ideally want to sign two new centre-backs, according to reports, and have also apparently set their sights on a new back-up striker (Sky Sports).

To help fulfil their transfer goals this summer, this Gold update can only come as a breath of fresh air.
