Tottenham Hotspur are now tracking Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as a successor to Hugo Lloris, according to a new report.

The Lowdown: Tottenham eyeing Lloris replacement

Lloris has been Tottenham's first-choice goalkeeper for a number of years, but some mistakes have started to creep into his game recently, and he is now 36, so the club have started to think about bringing in a replacement.

The Frenchman has made three errors leading to goals in the Premier League this season, more than any other player in the top flight, and so Antonio Conte is believed to have targeted Jordan Pickford as a successor, but it seems Raya could now also be an option.

The Latest: Tracking Raya

According to a report from the Telegraph, Spurs are tracking the Brentford keeper for a summer transfer switch, as even though Conte remains happy with Lloris, he recognises that a long-term replacement is needed.

However, it is detailed that there is likely to be competition for the 27-year-old's signature, given that his contract will only have one year left on it at the end of the season.

The Verdict: Get it done?

Lauded as 'exceptional' by reporter Sam Dean, the shot-stopper has been in fine form in the Premier League this season, way out in front as the goalkeeper who has made the most saves, registering 79, 11 clear of his nearest rival.

The man in second place, however, is Tottenham's other goalkeeper target, Pickford, and the Everton man is deemed by Nick Emms to have 'world-class distribution', while also being dubbed a 'real leader', so it is a difficult choice for Conte to make.

Despite Raya leading in terms of shots saved, the England number one has more experience at the top level, making 50 caps for his country, so he would adjust more quickly to the move, and should be prioritised ahead of the Spaniard.
