Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte still has Inter Milan right-wing back Denzel Dumfries on his radar for a January transfer, according to a new report.

The Lowdown: Tottenham's interest in Dumfries

As per Tuttosport, Spurs made contact with Inter back in April to register their interest in Dumfries for the summer transfer window, but a move did not transpire for the player, who was believed to be valued at £29.5m at the time. (via Sports Mole)

Journalist Pete O'Rourke spoke to GIVEMESPORT earlier this month, and claimed that the defender's value could now have risen to £50m after his 'outstanding' performances for the Netherlands at the World Cup.

However, a fresh report now reveals that the 26-year-old may still be available at a similar price to what he was in the last window...

The Latest: Conte 'on the hunt'

According to a report from Sport Witness, who are relaying information from journalist Rudy Galetti, Dumfries has 'never left the radar' at Tottenham, and he is now considered a more viable option than Pedro Porro.

Conte particularly wants to sign a new right-back due to the form of Emerson Royal, and the Serie A star could now be available for as little as £26m, with his current club willing to negotiate.

The Verdict: Get it done?

Given that the Netherlands international is still contracted until 2025, it is a little strange that he is allegedly available for such a small amount, but Inter's loss could be Tottenham's gain, as the full-back has undeniable quality.

Lauded as being a 'monster' by journalist Alan Rzepa, the former PSV man showed some very promising signs at the World Cup, particularly in his national side's match again the USA, displaying his attacking talent with a goal and two assists.

Being adept on the front foot is a key characteristic for a wing-back playing in a Conte system, but the 6 foot 2 defender has also averaged more interceptions per 90 over the past year than Emerson Royal, winning more aerial duels too, highlighting that he would also be an improvement defensively.

It is clear that Conte's backline needs a makeover, after conceding first in each of their last nine games, and Dumfries would be a fantastic addition, especially at the reported price of £26m.
