Speaking to talkSPORT, reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano has shared news on Tottenham Hotspur's managerial situation and has dropped a big claim.

The Lowdown: Spurs in manager hunt...

Tottenham have had to wipe the slate clean and start afresh after talks with both Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso broke down last week.

Indeed, new managing director Fabio Paratici had targeted the two Italians as possible heirs to Jose Mourinho but talks failed to materialise into an official appointment.

Now, reports indicate that Spurs will weigh their options again with time running out, especially considering non-international players return for pre-season training on July 5.

The Latest: Romano drops big claim...

Speaking to talkSPORT, reliable reporter Romano has dropped a big claim on Tottenham's search for a new manager and specifically when Spurs will decide on their new man.

Indeed, as per his information, the Italian journalist believes 'they will make a decision this week' on their next boss with chairman Daniel Levy and Spurs having to make a choice as soon as possible.

He claims they have 'many managers' on the list but Romano believes a choice on the favourite is now imminent.

The Verdict: Some optimistic news...

Lilywhites supporters are arguably in need of this information and will indeed be hoping that Spurs make a managerial decision 'this week'.

Of course, depending on who they decide to offer the job, you can never say the phrase 'done deal' with Tottenham until it is officially confirmed and announced - especially after all the very public talks with a plethora of different managers.

With any luck, the next batch of talks will not repeat the same failed cycle as talks with Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Fonseca and Gattuso.

The longer the club sits in limbo as the transfer window drags on, fan unrest will only grow more intense.
