Following the announcement of Tottenham’s starting line up to face West Ham United, whilst supporters were excited over the inclusion of Gareth Bale on the bench, many also blasted the absence of injury prone attacker Erik Lamela.
The 25-cap Argentine, who has been repeatedly sidelined for much for his Spurs career, despite impressing recently, is missing today’s encounter with the Hammers due to picking up yet another knock (Jonathan Veal).
As a result, teammate Steven Bergwijn started in his place, with supporters now taking to Twitter and voicing their concern over Lamela despite a pretty enticing afternoon in other regards at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Bale’s arrival has gifted Spurs plenty of options on that side, with Lucas Moura, Bergwijn and the Welshman eligible to play there.
Lilywhites, flocking to social media, have blasted Lamela’s injury record despite his showings on the pitch – all while wondering when he will be able to feature again.
