Speaking to Football Insider, former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has swooned over news that talks to tie down star attacker Son Heung-min with a new deal are now advancing – going on to say that Lilywhites can get excited over this ‘amazing‘ Daniel Levy move.
Son, who has bagged an incredible nine goals and two assists already this campaign, partnering star striker Harry Kane to devastating effect, is reportedly edging closer to a new bumper contract as talks advance over a £200,000-per-week deal.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that talks were set to begin, writing in the Guardian, but now Football Insider have claimed that the negotiations are at a pivotal stage – with Bent swooning over this development and tipping Lilywhites to get excited.
Bent tips Spurs fans to get excited over Son deal
“It is a lot of money but at the same time he’s earned it and obviously, five years now, they know full well if he was to leave now it would take an awful lot of money to get him out of there under that contract,” explained Bent to Football Insider.
“It’s definitely one of those things where you’d go it makes a lot of sense on for both parties and for Spurs fans, who absolutely love him, that’s music to their ears because he is one of the fans’ favourites.”

Indeed, as this big update emerges, it appears there is indeed reason for supporters to get excited – coming just weeks after Paul Robinson described the move as ‘amazing news for Spurs‘.
Given his contribution for the Lilywhites, it’s safe to say Tottenham fans will want the contract signed sooner rather than later.
