Speaking to Football Insider, regular talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor claims superstar signing Gareth Bale has been left ‘frustrated’ from what he has been told – going on to say he ‘isn’t very happy’ after being left out against Chelsea.
Bale, who made a sensational return to the Lilywhites, putting pen to paper on a headline-grabbing summer loan deal, will apparently be frustrated at manager Jose Mourinho’s big call to leave him out of the Chelsea match last weekend – with the Welshman not even coming on as a substitute.
Bale frustrated at Mourinho call
Indeed, the 31-year-old has been slowly eased in by the Spurs boss as he contemplates giving him more game time, and he recently revealed in a press conference this is largely due to concerns that he may pick up an injury.
However, dropping a rather hefty claim, Agbonlahor says Bale has been left frustrated at being left out from what he has been told about the attacker.
“Sure Gareth Bale isn’t very happy with not coming on against Chelsea but I think Jose Mourinho is picking the best players to get the best result on the day.
“Bale, knowing the player he is and from what I’m told, will be quite frustrated.
“It looks to me that every time Spurs are playing a top-five team, he’s not going to play.”
Transfer Tavern take
Even though Lilywhites haven’t seen much of Bale so far, despite his winning goal at home to Brighton last month, there could still be plenty more to come from the Spurs favourite.
Time will tell whether Mourinho decides to start playing him more often, but it could be a wise move to utilise the star man carefully.
