According to an update by TUTTOmercatoWEB, as translated and relayed via Sport Witness, Tottenham midfielder Gedson Fernandes could imminently depart north London and head to Torino on loan from parent club Benfica – with this report claiming the Serie A side are in ‘advanced negotiations‘.

Can you name these 10 former Spurs stars? Let's get started! Who is this?

Fernandes breakdown

Daniel Levy signed the box-to-box midfielder mid-way through last season, bringing him on an 18-month temporary deal in January 2020 with the option to buy (Tottenham Hotspur Official).

However, after a full year of barely featuring under manager Jose Mourinho, it looks like he could be set for pastures new judging by this claim – with the Italian media outlet now reporting it could be done very soon.

The Portuguese starlet has managed just 14 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites since his move last campaign (Transfermarkt), and it doesn’t look like Spurs will be taking up that option to sign him permanently after a year of part time cameos.

Transfer Tavern take

Once described as a ‘Mourinho version of Harry Winks‘ by talkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham when he first signed, things haven’t exactly turned out that way, but Levy could perhaps be relieved to get a player off the books and reduce the current overflow of squad players.
