Tottenham Hotspur were without three first-team players for Monday's training session ahead of the Lilywhites' Champions League clash against Marseille.

The Lowdown: Crucial Champions League clash

The north London club are back in action tonight with a crucial Champions League showdown against the Ligue 1 side.

A win for Antonio Conte's side would see them top their group and continue to the next round of the competition, while a draw would guarantee second place at worst.

However, it appears as though their task may be harder than originally imagined, as Spurs could well be without three players for the game in France.

The Latest: Trio miss training

Football.London reporter Rob Guest took to Twitter on Monday to share footage of what he noticed from the day's training session ahead of the Marseille clash.

He tweeted: "No Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero or Richarlison in Tottenham open training at Hotspur Way ahead of the Champions League tie at Marseille #THFC #COYS"

The Verdict: A tough task for Spurs

Assuming that these three players will not be available to take on Marseille, this will surely make things harder for Conte and Tottenham to secure victory.

Bearing in mind how Romero has the highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (22) of any Spurs player from the five Champions League games he has played this season, this shows just how vital he is for the team at the back and why his potential absence would surely be a big blow.

With Richarlison scoring two goals against tonight's opponents in the reverse fixture in September, his attacking prowess as an option for Conte to select will make him and Kulusevski unfortunate misses for Tottenham.

If they don't make it for this clash, hopefully they might be in line to feature against Liverpool next Sunday in Spurs' penultimate Premier League clash before the World Cup break.
