Tottenham Hotspur: Journalist tips Ryan Sessegnon to play big part for Jose Mourinho

Speaking on the ‘View from the Lane‘ podcast with Jack Pitt-Brooke and Charlie Eccleshare, journalist James Maw has tipped left-back Ryan Sessegnon to play a much bigger role for Tottenham this season due to the mounting fixture list.
Claiming he ‘could be the one that makes the biggest step up this season’, the journalist has tipped Sessegnon to play a potential key role in Jose Mourinho’s plans – especially with left-back Danny Rose rumoured to be leaving following reports.
Signed for £25 million last season from Fulham, the youngster couldn’t make his Spurs debut until after October and had to wait until the festive period to make his first start – mainly down to a hamstring injury picked up at his former club.
Will Spurs fans see more of Sessegnon over 2020/2021?
Yes, 100%

No

Upon his first start for the club in a Champions League tie away at Bayern Munich in the group stages, Sessegnon got off to the best possible start – scoring his first goal for Spurs despite the eventual 3-1 defeat.
However, in the Premier League, he hasn’t been given much of a chance under Mourinho – with the player starting just four top flight games and playing out 343 minutes in total (WhoScored)
Hailed by ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino as a ‘great talent‘, it’s clear Spurs’ new boss has held some reservations over regularly playing the Englishman.
Now, though, due to the intense fixture pile up, Maw believes that Lilywhites supporters could see a lot more of Sessegnon due to the heavy amount of rotation.
Valued at £22.5 million by Transfermarkt, it’s certainly far too early to consider selling, and he has now been tipped to play a key role.
Spurs fans, will Sessegnon be given more chances next season?
