Alasdair Gold has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur are bracing themselves for whatever punishment comes the way of Fabio Paratici.

The Lowdown: Spurs caught up in a storm

Spurs have been caught up in a murky situation involving Paratici, Juventus and their off-field money issues that occurred when the director was working with the Old Lady in Italy.

Juventus have been deducted 15 points for 'financial irregularities' when under the watchful eye of Paratici, who has been handed a 30-month ban from Italian football for his part in the scandal.

Therefore, Tottenham will be preparing for whatever comes the way in terms of punishment for their director of football, as they may well have to start looking for a successor in the near future.

The Latest: Tottenham preparing for any outcome

Gold has offered some comfort to Spurs fans on his YouTube channel by revealing their club are not sitting and waiting and are indeed braced for what comes of this investigation involving Paratici, with the possibility of a football-wide ban being handed out.

He said: "Spurs are bracing themselves for the potential wider ban, and obviously what that means. Obviously, Juventus have already announced that they will appeal the process.

"It's still such a difficult one. I said it in the last video - it's difficult for Spurs just through association with Paratici.

"He's been picked out as the main man in this thing, he's the one who's got the biggest ban from the Italian Federation - and it's not the only investigation going on; UEFA are doing their own investigation as well."

The Verdict: Paratici causing Levy headaches

During a time in which Daniel Levy is having to navigate his way through a difficult January transfer window to please Antonio Conte, he's also trying to get the Italian to sign a new contract as well as looking at offering Harry Kane an extension, so the last thing he needed was this off-field drama from Paratici.

Paratici has been helping deal with transfers and communicate Conte's message to Levy since 2021, which has seen them pull off great deals for players such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski in particular.

However, it may well have been too good to be true, as the key Spurs figure could now be hit with a big punishment along the lines of a worldwide ban from football, which will understandably have direct consequences for the club.
