Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for their former youth player Marcus Edwards.

Having worked his way through the youth ranks at Tottenham, the winger left to join Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes in 2019.
The 23-year-old then joined his current employers Sporting Lisbon last January and has since gone on to score 10 goals in 34 appearances, taking his career total to 32 goals in 164 senior club career games.
After playing against his former club in this season's Champions League group stage, it appears that the Englishman has been linked with a move back to Spurs.

According to a recent report from Record, the north London club have their eyes on potentially bringing the winger back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Last month, Edwards told the Evening Standard that he would be open to coming back to the Premier League in the future, which suggests that Fabio Paratici could entice the player if he makes a convincing enough offer to him.

The Verdict: Worth a punt
Across Edwards' 19 games this season, he has found the net seven times and delivered six assists. One of those goals came against Antonio Conte's side as they drew 1-1 in the Champions League last month.
Indeed, his performance in the first meeting between the two teams in September, when Sporting won 2-0, was lauded as "unbelievable" by journalist Joe Prince-Wright, showing how much he haunted the Lilywhites when given the chance to prove a point to his former club.
To further highlight how impressive the former Spurs youngster has been for his current club this season, he has made more successful dribbles (24) than any of his team-mates in the league, along with the highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (5.83) at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Moving forward, if Tottenham think securing a deal to bring Edwards back to the north London club would be a good move for all involved, they should definitely explore the possibility whenever they see fit.
