Reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Mohammed Kudus caught the attention of numerous media figures after his display for Ghana in their 3-2 defeat against Portugal in the World Cup.
The Lowdown: Spurs linked with Kudus
Earlier this month, it was reported that Spurs are one of the clubs, alongside the likes of Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus, interested in signing the Ajax star.
Having now made his first appearance in the 2022 World Cup, the 22-year-old’s display against Portugal was the subject of heavy praise from the media.
The Latest: Kudus praise
A number of journalists took to Twitter on Thursday to heap praise on Kudus during the defeat to Portugal.
The Verdict: An exciting signing for Spurs?
In the game against Portugal, Kudus managed to successfully complete all four dribbles he attempted in the match, which shows how much of a technically capable and tricky player he is.
Having also won six of the eight ground duels he was involved in as well as having two attempts at goal, this also highlights what he’s able to do on the pitch in and out of possession.
This display ultimately earned Kudus a solid match rating of 7.4/10 from SofaScore, making him Ghana’s highest-rated player on the day as well as giving him a higher rating than seven of Portugal’s starting outfield players.
Taking all of this into account, it’s easy to see why Spurs have their eyes on the player, who could be a very exciting signing in north London if they ended up securing his services.
