Tottenham Hotspur are laying the groundwork to bring Birmingham City midfielder Jobe Bellingham to the Premier League, according to reports.

The Lowdown: Bellingham profiled

The 17-year-old has worked his way up through the ranks at St Andrew’s from being an academy product to a first-team regular, having made 18 senior appearances so far.

The England youth international has now entered the final 18 months of his contract, a situation which has seen him attracting interest from several potential suitors, including the Lilywhites.

The Latest: Tottenham creating package for Bellingham

According to Football Insider, Spurs are ‘working on a deal’ to sign Bellingham ahead of the summer transfer window, with the teenage prospect also ‘on the radar’ of other unnamed top-flight and Bundesliga clubs.

Antonio Conte’s side hold a ‘strong interest’ in the 17-year-old and are in the process of ‘putting together a package’ to try and tempt him into a move to north London.

Spurs believe that the teenager has ‘improved’ since the start of this season and are therefore laying the foundations for a possible transfer to N17.

The Verdict: One for the future

Bellingham has been dubbed a ‘huge talent’ by football scout Jacek Kulig and he would be a massively exciting signing for the future of Tottenham.

The Adidas-sponsored player currently averages an 83.3% pass success rate per Championship game and offers versatility with the ability to operate in four different positions.

The Stourbridge native is also the brother of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, and if he follows in the England international's footsteps, he’ll surely have a promising career ahead of him.
