Tottenham Hotspur have now ‘completed’ the academy signing of Chelsea striker Jude Soonsup-Bell, according to journalist Alasdair Gold.

The Lowdown: Soonsup-Bell profiled

The England youth international has worked his way up through the ranks at Stamford Bridge to become a regular feature in the club’s U21s side, but with contract extension talks having stalled, he was catching the eye of one potential suitor in particular.

The North Londoners were the quickest to make a move for the 19-year-old, who was reportedly set to undergo a medical earlier this morning, and it sounds like the switch has since been finalised after successfully passing the necessary tests.

The Latest: Tottenham finalise academy deal

Taking to Twitter, Gold claimed that Spurs have now signed Soonsup-Bell despite the club not yet making an official announcement, whilst explaining what the plan for him will be in the near future.

“I know it's not the transfer you want to hear about today, but understand Spurs have completed the academy deal to sign Chelsea teenager Jude Soonsup-Bell after he did his medical this morning. Loan planned in the summer and plenty of hope for him.”

The Verdict: Exciting prospect

Soonsup-Bell has already made a name for himself despite still being a teenager and it’s a massive boost for Spurs that they have been able to secure such an exciting prospect to join their academy.

The six-foot forward scored 23 goals and provided two assists in 25 appearances during his time with Chelsea’s U18s and even made a senior outing for the Blues in the Carabao Cup (Transfermarkt).

The Chippenham-born talent would certainly benefit from a loan next season, and should he make an impression out on the road, who knows where he could stand in Antonio Conte’s plans upon his return.
