Danny Mills has suggested that the future of Tottenham's Heung-min Son could have an impact on whether or not Harry Kane stays at Spurs.

Kane future linked to Son's

The £76.5m-valued South Korea international has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer (Football Insider), while it has been reported that Kane wants to depart north London (Sky Sports, via Give Me Sport).

Speaking to Football Insider, Mills has suggested that the England captain will leave the club if Son himself goes. The ex-England defender said:

"Definitely.

"Harry Kane wants to win things. People go on about legacy and it might be split between scoring goals, having big contracts but given the chance, he’d want to win things.

"He’d want to win things at Spurs and score goals in a winning team.

"If you start to lose some of your best players that often provide the best chances for you, you’re going to start looking at and think ‘Hang on a minute, this maybe doesn’t work for me and as much as I love the football club, if players are leaving and we’re not bringing in players of equal quality or better then I’m going to suffer and if I suffer my family suffer and everything. Eventually, I need to be out of here.’

"Players are always asking ‘Who are we signing? Who are we bringing in?’ Because ultimately it makes them better."

Big summer

This is no doubt a big summer for Tottenham. Spurs still have a chance of winning the Carabao Cup, but whether a victory in that competition is enough to satiate Kane's appetite is up for debate. At 27 years old and without a trophy to his name so far, time is running out for the striker to pick up silverware.

Selling Son would send the wrong message. After top scorer Kane, he is perhaps the most important player Jose Mourinho has at his disposal. His departure would undoubtedly make Tottenham weaker, and they would have a hard time keeping him. His exit would probably leave Kane with little choice but to explore his options, including a move away from the club.

In other news, Daniel Levy wants to sign this star in the summer.
