Tottenham Hotspur could now sign non-league starlet Josh Ajayi this summer, and he has already trained with them.

The Lowdown: Untapped talent

Ajayi is a name that a lot of Spurs fans probably would not have heard of before they were linked with him, but he is certainly a talent.

The 19-year-old was unfortunately released by Crystal Palace back in 2020, featuring in the FA Youth Cup for the Premier League outfit a few times, and was tipped to become a star at Selhurst Park, according to renowned Eagles podcaster HLTCO.

Nonetheless, things did not work out, and he is now starring for Isthmian League side Ramsgate, where he scored no fewer than 19 goals before the end of January, and recently bagged all four assists in a 4-0 win against Lancing.

The Latest: Tottenham move?

As per his manager Matt Longhurst (via Kent Online), Ajayi 'could potentially' move to North London at the end of the season, after a switch in January did not work out.

He has already trained in the Lilywhites' academy, but a number of other teams are also watching his progress.

The Verdict: Exciting

While Ajayi is clearly not a signing to immediately improve the first XI, it should be exciting for the supporters to see the club already planning for the summer transfer window and years beyond.

Described as a 'quick' and 'powerful' player who 'works hard off the ball' by Longhurst (Kent Online), the Englishman can play off of both wings as well as up top (Transfermarkt), and so looks like someone who could eventually thrive under Antonio Conte in the first team with his versatility and eye for goal.

Nonetheless, THFC should look to get this deal done as soon as possible, given the competition for his signature.
