# Tottenham Hotspur: Odsonne Edouard admired by Spurs, could swoop in the summer

**According to a report by [the Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957), Tottenham Hotspur are ‘[admirers](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957)‘ of Celtic attacker Odsonne Edouard –  and could consider making a swoop for him in the summer.**

Most recently, Spurs have been linked to a plethora of attacking targets who could reinforce Jose Mourinho’s options going forward, with the likes of Christian Eriksen ([Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1350211591300640769)), Marcel Sabitzer ([Bild](https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/fussball/bundesliga-rb-leipzig-so-will-sportdirektor-kroesche-sabitzer-halten-74636642,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html#remId=1683698762039842709)) and Danny Ings ([Eurosport](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/transfers/2020-2021/tottenham-transfer-news-exclusive-spurs-lining-up-summer-move-for-southampton-s-danny-ings_sto8074524/story.shtml)) being mentioned in the past month as possible signings, either in January or next window.

### Spurs admire Edouard

Now, as per the Daily Star, a new name could be attracting the attention of Spurs – with Hoops striker Edouard apparently being admired by Mourinho and chairman Daniel Levy at Tottenham.

The report mentions that either Spurs or arch-rivals Arsenal, could swoop for Edouard in the summer but neither side will contemplate making a move for him in January.

Edouard apparently commands a transfer fee of around [£35 million](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957), but the Star also say that he ‘[fancies](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957)‘ a move to London and is ‘[eager](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957)‘ to join a top-six side – coming as English capital rivals West Ham are [set to push](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/west-ham-transfer-news-edouard-23373957) for the forward.

Spurs could consider a move during the next transfer window, and it’s safe to stay that Edouard would add real strength in depth to Mourinho’s attacking options.

### Transfer Tavern take

The Athletic journalist Kieran Devlin, detailing the 23-year-old’s meteoric rise in a piece [last January](https://theathletic.co.uk/1530550/2020/01/24/odsonne-edouard-celtic-france-psg-larsson/), revealed his nickname ‘Magic Odsonne’ – and it’s clear to see he’s gone on to back that up judging by his numbers.

According to [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/317504/Show/Odsonne-Edouard), Edouard has still managed a prolific seven goals in 12 SPFL starts this campaign in an underperforming Hoops side – still living up to the ‘[magic](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/317504/Show/Odsonne-Edouard)‘ tag even now.

Whether or not Levy does follow up on his admiration, however, and attempts to bring Edouard to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains to be seen – but it could be possible in the summer, especially if Carlos Vinicius is sent back to Benfica.
