# Tottenham Hotspur: Paulo Dybala would not get into Spurs team, says Stewart Robson

**Stewart Robson believes that Juventus midfielder Paulo Dybala would not get into Spurs’ team – and would struggle if he came to the Premier League.**

Dybala has been linked with a Tottenham move – though Sky Sports [reports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11771093/paulo-dybala-to-tottenham-hinges-on-christian-eriksen-and-danny-rose-departures) that any switch would depend on the respective futures of Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose.

But Robson believes that Tottenham would be better off looking elsewhere – and doesn’t think the Argentinian is built for the rigours of the English top flight.

Speaking of his credentials for [ESPN FC](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UX4wT_vYatU), Robson said: “I’ve seen Dybala play a lot for Juventus, I think he’s a nearly man. He’s a fringe player, he likes playing off other people, I don’t think he’s strong enough for the Premier League.”

Robson continued to voice his opposition to Dybala’s supposed merits as a footballer, [saying](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZQ4ITdOWvM&t=209s): “I’m not a great Dybala fan, I think he’s a bit-part player. I don’t think he would get into Spurs’ team.”

Dybala has posted some impressive goalscoring tallies for Juventus since [joining](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/transfers/spieler/206050) from Palermo in 2015 – [notching 26](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/206050) in the season before last – which was prior to the Italian champions signing [Cristiano Ronaldo](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44785173), who was the club’s [top scorer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juventus-fc/leistungsdaten/verein/506/plus/1?reldata=%262018) last season with 28 as the forward had to settle for second-best with just 10 to his name.

The notion that Spurs need to rid themselves of Eriksen in order to move for Dybala makes sense, with a selection of [attacking midfielders](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/kadernachposition/verein/148) including Dele Alli already in place.

Although, if he were to take up a second-striker position (as [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/paulo-dybala/profil/spieler/206050) suggests his main position is), there could yet be a place within the side with just [Lucas Moura](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tottenham-hotspur/kadernachposition/verein/148) potentially filling that role other than Harry Kane for Spurs.

So while there may be space to accommodate Dybala at Tottenham, his dip in form last season in terms of goals could support Robson’s issues with the 25-year-old – and a move at this late stage may seem unlikely with Eriksen staying put for now as the deadline edges closer.
