# Tottenham Hotspur: Rodrigo Bentancur hails Harry Kane

**Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has lauded teammate Harry Kane in an interview with [ESPN Argentina](https://www.espn.com.ar/futbol/mundial/nota/_/id/10104087/uruguay-peru-eliminatorias-qatar-2022-peru-chile-rodrigo-bentancur-fernando-muslera) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/happy-play-tottenham-bentancur-transfer-spurs-player-surprised/)).**

### The lowdown: Bentancur’s early impact

Since joining Spurs from Juventus in a deal that could cost up to £21.5million ([Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12529098/tottenham-transfer-news-spurs-sign-dejan-kulusevski-and-rodrigo-bentancur-from-juventus-on-deadline-day#:~:text=Tottenham%20have%20signed%20Dejan%20Kulusevski%20and%20Rodrigo%20Bentancur%20from%20Juventus,certain%20sporting%20criteria%20are%20met.)), the Uruguayan has already become a regular feature in Antonio Conte’s plans.

The [47-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrigo-bentancur/nationalmannschaft/spieler/354362/verein_id/3449) ace has already completed 90 minutes on [five occasions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rodrigo-bentancur/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/354362/saison/2021/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/148) in the Premier League for the Lilywhites, registering a first assist in the victory over Brighton & Hove Albion recently.

He is seemingly getting better each week, producing a brilliant display in the 3-1 win against West Ham with two tackles and a remarkable 95 per cent pass completion rate, including an 100 per cent success rate on long balls ([Whoscored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1549836/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2021-2022-Tottenham-West-Ham)).

### The Latest: Impressed by Kane

Speaking to [ESPN](https://www.espn.com.ar/futbol/mundial/nota/_/id/10104087/uruguay-peru-eliminatorias-qatar-2022-peru-chile-rodrigo-bentancur-fernando-muslera), as translated by [SW](https://sportwitness.co.uk/happy-play-tottenham-bentancur-transfer-spurs-player-surprised/), Bentancur hailed his talismanic centre-forward when asked who at Hotspur Way has ‘surprised’ him the most.

The 24-year-old labelled Kane as an ‘incredible’ player both physically and technically before stating it is a ‘pleasure’ to play in the same team as the England captain.

Bentancur added that the 28-year-old frontman is ‘very complete’ in terms of playing style.

### The lowdown: Big things ahead?

Having made a bright start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the early signs would suggest that with a full pre-season the Uruguayan could thrive for Spurs.

\[freshpress-poll id=”391334″\]

Already with one assist for Kane under his belt, with an average of 55 accurate passes per game so far for Conte’s side in the league ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/bentancur-rodrigo/791190)), Bentancur will be hoping to link up with the star man on a consistent basis moving forwards, perhaps propelling the Lilywhites to some silverware in the process.
