# Tottenham Hotspur: Serge Aurier set to leave Spurs for Serie A side AC Milan as Mourinho rings changes

**Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is ready to ring changes as Serge Aurier is set to leave north London this summer, [reports](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/serge-aurier-set-leave-tottenham-22474634) say.**

Tottenham are prepared to get rid of the right-back as both [AC Milan and AS Monaco](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/serge-aurier-set-leave-tottenham-22474634) are considering signing Aurier.

According to [The Mirror’s](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/serge-aurier-set-leave-tottenham-22474634) chief football writer John Cross, Mourinho is making plans for a defensive overhaul in the summer.

Spurs veteran [Jan Vertonghen](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-jan-vertonghen-transfer-interest-wolves-roma-atletico/) left the club as a free agent, while Kyle Walker-Peters is poised to stay at [Southampton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-hotspur-spurs-reach-agreement-with-saints-for-pierre-emile-hojbjerg-and-kyle-walker-peters/), and the the [60-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/serge-aurier/profil/spieler/127032) Ivory Coast international could be about to follow suit.

Recent reports [suggested](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-serge-aurier-wants-milan-move/) Aurier has already agreed to move to the San Siro Stadium but [Cross](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/serge-aurier-set-leave-tottenham-22474634) claims there is still some way to go until his wish is granted.

[The Rossoneri](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-serge-aurier-wants-milan-move/) must offload either Davide Calabria or Andrea Conti before they can buy the Ivory Coast captain, while [the Lilywhites](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-serge-aurier-wants-milan-move/) need to look for a replacement.

Aurier hasn’t had it [easy](https://theathletic.co.uk/1257160/2019/10/02/right-back-used-to-be-spurs-great-strength-now-after-another-aurier-horror-show-it-is-a-mess/) in north London even though he has established himself as the Portuguese’s [first-choice](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tottenham-transfer-rumours/tottenham-serge-aurier-wants-milan-move/) in that position.

The 27-year-old wants to leave the club and is reluctant to sign a new deal. However, Daniel Levy is demanding Milan pay [€25m](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-hojbjerg-transfer-close-ac-milan-talks-serge-aurier-a4517066.html) (£23m), which is [the price](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-hojbjerg-transfer-close-ac-milan-talks-serge-aurier-a4517066.html) he paid Paris Saint-Germain three years ago, but [the Italians](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-hojbjerg-transfer-close-ac-milan-talks-serge-aurier-a4517066.html) are trying to drive down his demands.

The Lilywhites may decide to look at other offers if Levy doesn’t get what he wants, while [Monaco’s recruitment](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/12019098/serge-aurier-monaco-interested-in-signing-tottenham-defender) is now overseen by former Spurs chief Paul Mitchell, who is keen for the Ivorian to return to Ligue 1.
