# Tottenham Hotspur: Sky Sports reporter makes claim as Lilywhites eye Dusan Vlahovic

**Speaking to[GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/1801948-spurs-transfer-news-fresh-claim-emerges-over-tottenham-deal-for-45m-rising-star), journalist Micheal Bridge of Sky Sports has made a claim involving Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic as they eye a January swoop.**

### The Lowdown: Tottenham in Vlahovic hunt…

The links to Fiorentina’s prize asset have seemingly been never-ending since he was a [known target](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/07/28/dusan-vlahovic-simy-tottenhams-radar-club-look-harry-kane-attack/) for managing director Fabio Paratici in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, the arrival of manager Antonio Conte has only increased rumours of Vlahovic potentially joining Tottenham with La Gazzetta (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/tottenham-not-let-go-signing-meeting-held-spurs-perhaps-favourite-get-deal-done/)) even lifting the lid on a transfer meeting in London.

The Serbia international is very much still a target for Tottenham with reliable reporter [Matt Law of The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/12/13/exclusive-tottenham-suffer-new-first-team-covid-case-youth-outbreak/) explaining earlier this week that the club are eyeing a January move alongside Wolves star Adama Traore.

As the Lilywhites set their sights on Vlahovic as a striking alternative to superstar Harry Kane, Sky reporter Bridge has now made his own claim on the situation.

### The Latest: Bridge makes Vlahovic claim…

Speaking to [GMS](https://www.givemesport.com/1801948-spurs-transfer-news-fresh-claim-emerges-over-tottenham-deal-for-45m-rising-star), the journalist believes the target man is ‘the real deal’ but also shares his worrying theory that Spurs may have missed the boat.

*“He’s proved to people this guy that he’s the real deal. I just worry with Vlahovic that Spurs might have missed the boat there.”*

### The Verdict: Hope he’s wrong…

Given the 21-year-old’s scintillating form which has even earned him comparisons to Borussia Dortmund superstar [Erling Braut Haaland](https://football-italia.net/media-watch-vlahovic-earns-lukaku-haaland-comparisons/), Spurs supporters will be hoping Bridge is incorrect in his belief and Conte still has a chance of seeing him make the north London move.

As confirmed by Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone (Repubblica via [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1470974074662834179)), Vlahovic has down ‘several’ contract offers from La Viola to make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

This is a clear as crystal indication he is eyeing a move away from the club and we believe Tottenham have a real chance of signing him, especially considering the pull of the Premier League.

Racking up 15 goals and two assists in just [17 top flight matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/du-scaron-an-vlahovic/leistungsdaten/spieler/357498) this campaign, Vlahovic would undoubtedly strengthen Conte’s options either in January or next summer.

Lauded as a ‘force of nature like Romelu Lukaku and Haaland’ by [Italian media,](https://football-italia.net/media-watch-vlahovic-earns-lukaku-haaland-comparisons/) the sensational young striker would come as Paratici’s biggest coup yet after [2020/2021 Serie A MVP](https://www.legaseriea.it/en/press/news/info/the-mvps-of-the-2020-2021-season-cristian-romero-best-defender) Cristian Romero.
