### The Verdict: Huge strength in depth

This capture further strengthens Conte’s defensive ranks, with the Italian having the likes of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez and now Lenglet all at his disposal.

The Frenchman has plenty of experience under his belt in the Champions League, having made [44](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/clement-lenglet/detaillierteleistungsdaten/spieler/182904) appearances in the competition for both Barcelona and Sevilla, and he will likely be keen to bring this knowledge to Spurs as they look forward to a return to Europe’s premier club competition in the autumn.
